Rawas River Boating

Target
Specification
The Rawas District, a long known Dutch localities,
since the colonial, of place where most gold of this
island have been dug out and shipped to Netherland,
still remains as wild as they used to. Local
villagers, with their long riverboat, will take you
down facing the whitewater upstream. Some may enjoy
kayaking and rubber rafting downstream, but please let
us inform you that boarding the small riverboat and
race it to the upstream breaking rapids and narrow
stream rocky channel tastes more adventurous.
This
area of southeastern part of the Park is dominated by
Mesozoic rock formation Rawas is located in the border
of the northwest trending park. If you are looking for
a fresh- isolated place, a green paradise, guaranteed
by a western-owned accommodation, and of course you
need to taste those white water boating , sitting on a
8m long x 1.5 meter wide wooden long boat breaking
through rapids and sharp rocks formations, Rawas shall
have it all.
Day 01 :
Jambi - Arrival
Upon your arrival at Jambi Airport, our local
representative will meet and greet your at the
airport, then transfer to your hotel in Jambi. In the
afternoon visit Batik village. Dinner and overnight at
your hotel.
Day 02 : Jambi -
Surulangun
Land travel to Surulangun ( 4
hours driving ), check in at Rawas River Lodge, a very
relaxing place just on the rawas river side. Afternoon
visit local market and explore for old traditional
house's architectural styles, and cultures of river
society Blend of 19th century european , chinese and
ancient malay , can be seen still on the local house
styles and architectures.
Day 03 : River Boat - Upstream
Boarding to river boat, start
your adventure upstream . Lunch at Pulau Kida.
Continue boating upstream and stay overnight at
Napallicin. Overnight is optional up here, whether you
want to stay with locals in their traditional houses
and village, or just simply book the fancy Kubu Lodge,
a very isolated lodge built up by a Dutch - Indonesian
folks, with a western facilities.
Day 04 : Rawas
River
In the morning, enjoy the
harmony of shouting Gibbon and monkeys just outside
your rooms, after breakfast, board back into riverboat
and boat upstream to Napal Licin Cave, a limestone
cave with exotic stalactyte and stalacmyte. continue
apstream to our special hidden paradise swimming spot.
Just finish your lunch before jump swim onto the clean
rapid stream...While swimming , try to explore for
petrified woods, a used to be woods, which internal
structure was completely replaced by silica mineral.
Grab your own nature's gift souvenir, and boat
downstream back to lodge. If you choose to stay
overnight with local people, there is a special
attraction we would like to offer you, that is ' fish
- shooting ', using local's oxbow of bullets made of
long sharp wire, which you will use while swimming on
the river, using your google and try to have your best
shot on the fish. Canoeing can be your choice also as
we provide fiberglass 2 piloted canoe for you
Day 05 : Rawas River
After breakfast, we will take
you for an easy trek, to survey one hotspring
mudpools up in the jungle nearby , which is used by
wild animals as a salt feed, around 4 hours walk.
After lunch, continue to a hill top, and let your
camera scream as you will find a very spectacular
landscape of sparkling whitewater river, cutting
across karsted limestone formation and filled up by a
very green lowland tropical rainforest. Stay overnight
at the lodge/ village.
Day 06 : Rawas
River
Rafting day.... After
breakfast, we will be finished setting up your rubber
raft, and set in in front of the lodge. Just put on
your safety jackets, and helmets, and we will raft
down to Pulau Kida. Reach Pulau Kida at the afternoon,
and continue your travel by riverboat to Rawas River
Lodge.Stay overnight at Rawas River Lodge
Day 07 : Rawas -
Jambi
Land travel to Jambi, and stay
overnight at the Hotel. During the afternoon, we will
take you to kajanglako gallery and enjopy their
collection of ancient stuff from the 8th century of
Melayu Kingdom
Day 08 : Jambi - Departure
Depart Jambi by second flight of the day.
